Sylvan Valley Pottery was established in 2017. It is positioned just to the northwest of Sylvan Valley in the District of Algoma, 30km east of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. It's natural surroundings provide inspiration for the wares created. Resident potter Kim Caldwell found the craft of pottery in midlife and immediately fell in love with it. She spent five years potting through the Sault Potters Guild before opening her own studio. She uses a variety of hand and wheel techniques to create a wide range of functional stoneware. Individuality is a key component in the production of all pieces.
