Where inspiration, interpretation and the need to create come together
Sylvan Valley Pottery was established in 2017. It is positioned just to the northwest of Sylvan Valley in the District of Algoma, 30km east of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. It's natural surroundings provide inspiration for the wares created. Resident potter Kim Caldwell found pottery in midlife and immediately fell in love with it. She spent five years potting through the Sault Potters Guild and has now opened her own studio. She uses a variety of hand and wheel techniques to create a wide range of functional wares. Individuality is a key component in the production of all pieces.
